Dear Friends of Holy Cross Retreat Center,
Peace and good things! Once again we will be hosting the annual Franciscan Festival of Fine Arts, Labor Day Weekend, September 1-2, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Last year’s Festival was rained out; however the short time that we had was a great success. Numerous people expressed their thanks for bringing the Festival back.
As of this writing, we have over 43 artists displaying works in media such as: painting, pottery, stained glass, retablos, santos, textile art, photography and much more. Visitors to the Festival will not only have the opportunity to view and purchase great art, but there will be food booths, wine tasting, and music. A silent auction, which will include works of art donated by the artists themselves, and other door prizes will be available. On Sunday, we will have a Mariachi Mass at 9:00 a.m.
The income that is raise from the Franciscan Festival is used to help the Retreat Center upgrade its facilities for support of the many groups who use our sacred space—one of our concrete goals is to build a new chapel.
